I have a crush on a boy who serenades to me but he was The One That Got Away
Whenever I am experiencing a hardship, I open my Spotify and listen to the song he sang for me and immediately, it would calm me down. “A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton is one of the best songs in history and he would serenade this song to me every single night before I went to bed.
He was The One That Got Away
I met a special fella on April 8th, 2022 and it was a really ‘Good Friday’.
We were both seeking for a best friend, someone we can come home to in the search for peace, calmness and happiness in our lives. We both focused on the simple things in life that would make our lives happy.
Bringing home roses when he comes home from work, waking up to some burnt pancakes in the morning (A for effort), and him grabbing an extra jacket for the late night shenanigans. He was a gentleman and he would make me laugh.
Sadly, the truth was…
We had so many similar values and fundamental beliefs but we were not in love with each other. We had so much respect for each other but we had no love for each other. We later realized that.
Or maybe…he was the one who thought there was no love. I was deeply and madly in love with him and his little quirks, jokes, and silence. A man with a few words. But I had to let him go because I was only draining his energy instead of adding to it, or so that’s what I assumed.
Do you think we can try again to see if we could make things work? Do you think we can have a second chance? I’d walk a thousand miles if I had to…
