CONDO TERMITES— Why I would never purchase a condo again
I’ve had a termite problem that’s been going on for 3 years now…
I live in a condo with 5 other units, which means that all 5 other units have to agree to fumigation, which is $2k each in other to proceed with this treatment. Not even half of the units want to do it.
Every morning, I wake up to termites on the carpet, termites on the kitchen counter, and even termites on my mattress. I can’t sell the house. I can’t rent the house. I can’t fix the house. I can’t do anything to get rid of the house.
Buying a property where you need other people’s agreement to do something could only be the worse. The only solution is to fork out $10K of my own money to do this fumigation but that’s just ridiculous and I don’t know how my neighbors are living in this nasty and grotesque environment. It grosses me out so much that I started sleeping over at my parents’ house (tysm to two amazing parents).
Biggest mistake and purchase ever. I’m not sure what to do.
I had many amazing years in this house. I’ve lived here for more than 6 years and this issue started happening 3 years.
